TransMail Trusted Edition Overview
The defense and intelligence community runs on mail and messaging - it is a critical application that binds processes together from sensing to theatre management and force deployment. As collaboration between different agencies and departments has increased, improved information sharing has become a top priority, including sharing across security domains.
TransMail Trusted Edition has been specifically designed for these scenarios. Available at a single domain via the TransMail Outlook Add-In, TransMail Web Client and TransMail Blackberry Client, TransMail Trusted Edition can be accessed through users' regular infrastructure. TransMail Trusted Edition also provides a cross-domain, multi-level mail and messaging interface for the Sun Ray multi-level desktop. The user can have a single inbox and interface containing content at multiple labels.
TransMail Trusted Edition leverages the BlueSpace Trusted Client Framework to ensure appropriate content management between the different security zones, including data labeling so that the interface operates multiple network sessions simultaneously. TransMail Trusted Edition employs a TransMail server in each local zone, each with its own TransMail Store running on the Oracle database. The Trusted Client then aggregates content from these separate networks into a single interface on the Sun Ray Session Server.
Custom data and tagging is supported by means of dynamic forms defined by XML templates modeled on XForms syntax. Custom data can be synchronized from external systems, and can be used in the TransMail policy engine to enforce attribute-based information sharing policies. These policies are described in a rules engine, and policed automatically, backed up by rigorous and immutable audit logs. With a multi-tier architecture, TransMail Trusted Edition has been designed according to SOA best practices, and also supports LDAP and AD integration for user provisioning as well as Single Sign On for authentication.
