Justin has served on the board of BlueSpace since founding the company in 2001. He is also the co-inventor of the TransMail™ technology and principal author of many of the patents in the BlueSpace patent portfolio.
As an expert in the multi-level security space, Justin has been an invited speaker on multi-level security at NSA, AFRL, UCDMO and USAF conferences, as well as an entrepreneurship conference on doing business with the government.
Prior to setting up BlueSpace, Justin co-founded and directed M H Media Consultants – a media consulting business in the UK focused on the education sector. He also founded SciBel, a charity dealing with the interaction between science and religion, and JM Musik, a small music mail order company.
Justin holds an MSci in Chemistry from Durham University and is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society. He is also the youngest individual to have ever published in the prestigious scientific journal Nature, winner of the British Young Scientist competition, and a major prizewinner in the European Young Scientist competition.
As an executive with more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector, Pat leads the BlueSpace management team.
Prior to joining BlueSpace, Pat was President of Troux Technologies, a provider of Strategic IT Management software for Global 2000 organizations from February 2003 through July 2006 where he led the growth of revenues from 0 to over $15m annually. His responsibilities included worldwide sales, marketing, services, product development and accounting / finance.
Prior to Troux, Pat held several executive positions for Motive Communications, an intelligent service software company from May 1998 to January 2003 including VP Product Development, CFO, VP of Services, and VP of Business Development. During this time, Motive grew from 0 to over $80m in annual revenue.
From October 1996 to May 1998, Pat was Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer for PSW Technologies, a publicly held Austin based software services firm. From May of 1993 to September 1996, Pat served as General Manager of PSW Technologies, which at that time was a division of Pencom Systems. During his tenure at PSW, the company grew revenues from $6m to $44m annually and completed an IPO.
From January 1992 to May 1993, Pat served as Vice President of Marketing at Software Publishing Corp, a public PC software company with $150m in annual revenue. Prior thereto, Pat was Vice President of Business Development at Metaphor Computer Systems, a software systems company, from April 1989 to December 1991. During his tenure, Metaphor completed a $120m merger with IBM.
Pat also held various positions at IBM from 1976 to 1989 within the personal Systems and Workstation Divisions, including System Manager of OS/2 Extended Edition and AIX Development Manager for the original RISC/UNIX system project.
Pat earned a master’s degree in management science from Stanford University, a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Brian Vetter brings over 20 years of experience developing enterprise software technologies deployed by many of the largest and most demanding corporations. Prior to joining BlueSpace, Brian was the CTO and co-founder of Motive, a successful Austin based company that pioneered support and systems management delivered over the Internet. He was an early employee of Tivoli where he was one of the principal architects of Tivoli's TME object-oriented management framework and designer of Tivoli's distributed database and transaction services. After a successful IPO and acquisition by IBM, Brian left Tivoli to co-found Motive.
Before Motive and Tivoli, Brian was a software designer at Tandem Computers developing systems software for Tandem's fault tolerant Unix systems. Brian also worked at Digital Research and Statcom developing new operating and software systems for the emerging personal computer market.
Brian has a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of Texas and is an inventor with sixteen patents at three different companies for technology, covering fault-tolerant design and configuration, enterprise scale systems and network management, and Internet-based management and technical support.
As VP of Engineering and Services, David is responsible for product development, services, and certifications at BlueSpace.
David has served many roles during his career including Director of Engineering, Senior System Architect, Developer, Product Manager, and as a globe trotting Professional Services Engineer.
Prior to joining BlueSpace, David worked 11 years at Kabira Technologies (now Tibco), an enterprise software technology vendor to the payment and telecommunications industries with successful deployments to tier 1 customers worldwide.
Before Kabira, David worked for KLA-Tencor in semiconductor manufacturing automation, and also Texas Instruments in programmable logic and gate array products. David has a B.A. in Electrical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Johnny Cope comes to BlueSpace with 14 years of experience in various technology markets including IT security, defense and biotechnology. As VP of Solutions Engineering, he is responsible for account management and partnerships.
Prior to joining BlueSpace, Johnny led a global technical pre-sales team within the security software pillar at Oracle Corporation and Sun Microsystems. Previously, he held positions in product develop, consulting and support at Raytheon Technical Services Company, i2 Technologies, Waveset, and Neogent. Additionally, Johnny served in the United States Navy Reserve from 1993 - 2001.
He holds a B.S. in Information & Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine.
